Even if you are living in small area, you can still own a dog for a pet. There are very small dogs breeds and they are great companions for small spaces. All you have to do is look around and then make your choice. When you have reached the decision to buy one, you can proceed and make a choice of the dog breed  that is suitable for you and your family.

In deciding to buy a pet dog, you must also be prepared to do the extra job of taking good care of the dog by taking it out for walks often and give its life variety rather than keep it cooped up in the apartment only. Even small dogs breeds get emotionally upset if they are kept in the home for long periods of time without being allowed to move freely outside the home. That means you will have to be prepared to spend time taking them for walks.

 

Small dog breeds are very cute and if you can get a hold on the Maltese, you will have for yourself the cutest small dog around. These small dog breed grows to a maximum of six to seven ponds in weight. These small dog breed has a beautiful white coat. The Maltese has its origins back to an ancient period and thus accounts for its strong constitution. However Maltese must never be kept area where the climate is very hot as they have a thick fur that can make their lives miserable.
The Cavalier King Charles is another small dog breed. This breed weighing twice the Maltese is a small dog and courtly as the name suggests. It is friendly, and Cavaliers lifetime companions. The King Charles is an ideal small for those who love the quiet lifestyle.

If you are prepared to spend a hefty amount of money and are prepared to spend much time grooming, there is nothing better than the Lowchen as far as the longhaired small dog breed is concerned. The dazzling ‘Lion’ can cost to a whopping $1000. The Lowchen being an indoors dog does not need much exercising but there have been reports that it affects the dog emotionally if it is separated from its owner for long hours. It is not advisable to buy a Lowchen if you are away for a long time. .

The Miniature Fox Terrier, small dog breed form is a good choice. However, this lovely dog needs a lot of exercise. It’s a dog breed best if you just want to enjoy without having to spend a lot of time grooming it.

The Italian greyhound is an alternative choice if you are looking for a short haired pet. this is the pet for you if you want an exercise friend.  Being lightweight this dog is well behaved but reacts to stress with small children around. So if you have children this is again not suitable for you.

The Welsh corgi is a small dog breed that is the delight of Queen Elizabeth of England. You will love it if are looking for a playful and loving pet. The Welsh corgi belongs to two distinct breed the Cardigan or Pembrokeshire. Both are equally wonderful companions for small areas.

Finally do not discount the poodle. The poodle loves to play and it is obedient too. . The poodle is emotionally affected if left alone. Whatever it is, if you are always away for long spells of time, please think twice before buying a pet.
